POSITION SUMMARY
TNDC is the business arm of the Tahltan Nation — Tahltan-owned, working in Tahltan Territory, on projects that will define northwest B.C. for the next fifty years. Our Community Business Service Coordinator in Dease Lake is where that work meets the community day to day.
This role serves as a primary local point of contact for TNDC employees and community members in Dease Lake. The Community Business Services Coordinator provides directions on administrative matters, including forms, payroll and expense inquiries, benefits, HR processes, and employee support, ensuring questions are documented, routed to the appropriate department, or Operations team member, and followed up in a timely and respectful manner. The role also supports two-way communication between TNDC and the community by gathering feedback, identifying concerns, preparing engagement reports, and helping ensure TNDC operations align with Tahltan protocols. In addition, the coordinator supports cultural awareness and community engagement activities; liaises with Elders, community leaders, and cultural advisors; supports local hiring, training, and community investment initiatives; assists with board meeting coordination as an extension of the CEO’s Executive Assistant; and provides support to the TNDC Board Chair as required.

Responsibilities:
Business Services Coordinator
- Act as a bridge between TNDC operations and Tahltan community protocols
· Serve as a local point of contact for TNDC employees in the community, helping direct questions related to Finance, payroll, benefits, HR processes, forms, and employee supports to the appropriate TNDC team member
- Develop and maintain relationships with community members, local groups, and stakeholders
- Support TNDC Communications Team, coordinating TNDC functions, activities and other in the territory
- Prepare reports documenting community interactions, concerns, and engagement efforts
- Gather community feedback, concerns, and questions and relay them to management
- Promote positive relationships and trust between the organization and community
- Coordinate cultural awareness and community engagement events
- Liaise with Elders, community leaders, and cultural advisors as needed
- Coordinate board meetings and act as an extension of the CEO’s Executive Assistant
- Support local hiring, training, and community investment initiatives
- Support the TNDC Board Chair as required
· Support employees with navigating basic administrative questions, including where to access forms, who to contact for payroll or expense inquiries, and how to follow up on HR-related matters
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in administrative or coordination roles
- Strong understanding of Tahltan culture and values (Tahltan applicants)
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Working Conditions
- Based in Dease Lake
- Occasional travel to TNDC sites or community events
- Standard office hours with flexibility during peak operational periods

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
· Ability to pass a mandatory pre-employment drug and alcohol test
· Willingness to sign an Oath of Confidentiality
· Full disclosure of criminal record and current criminal record check
· Valid class 5 driver’s license and willing to provide a current driver abstract
· Willingness to work occasional overtime during peak or critical work periods
