Summary
The Parts Lead is responsible for overseeing the efficient management of parts inventory, sourcing, and procurement within a service operation environment. This position will be operating on-site directly with the lead hands, managers and technicians alongside the equipment and parts warehousing and storage.
Key Responsibilities:
Internal Customer Support & Technical Expertise
- Provide timely and knowledgeable parts support to technicians, branch personnel, and site managers to minimize equipment downtime.
- Identify and source the correct parts using technical manuals, equipment documentation, and manufacturer resources.
- Respond promptly to internal requests received by phone, email, and other communication channels, providing regular updates on order status and availability.
Parts Operations & Inventory Management
- Coordinate the sourcing, ordering, receiving, and distribution of parts to support maintenance and repair activities.
- Maintain inventory accuracy by performing regular cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and ensuring proper inventory transactions within the ERP system.
- Process warranty claims, returns, and vendor communications while maintaining accurate records.
- Monitor stock levels and recommend replenishment to ensure critical parts are available when needed.
Coordination & Accountability
- Prioritize parts requests based on operational needs and equipment downtime to support efficient shop and field operations.
- Maintain accurate documentation for parts orders, transfers, inventory adjustments, and warranty transactions.
- Support purchasing activities by obtaining quotes, monitoring supplier performance, and identifying cost-effective sourcing opportunities.
- Assist with maintaining accurate parts information within the ERP system, including descriptions, vendor information, and inventory records.
- Work closely with technicians, site managers, service advisors, purchasing, and other departments to ensure parts are available when required.
Performance Expectations
- Maintain high inventory accuracy with minimal variances.
- Respond to internal parts requests promptly, supporting equipment uptime and operational efficiency.
- Ensure timely procurement and delivery of parts to minimize repair delays.
- Maintain accurate inventory, warranty, and purchasing records.
- Demonstrate strong collaboration and communication with technicians, site managers, and cross-functional teams.
Experience:
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a heavy equipment, truck, or industrial parts environment is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of truck, trailer and heavy equipment parts, including the ability to identify, source, and recommend the correct components.
- Experience with inventory management, purchasing, receiving, and warranty processes.
- Experience supporting technicians, maintenance teams, or service operations is considered an asset.
Skills
- Proficiency with ERP systems (CDK experience is considered an asset) and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to research and source parts efficiently.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused approach to supporting internal stakeholders.
- High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate inventory and documentation.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with technicians, site managers, purchasing, and other departments.

Pay: $22.00-$26.00 per hour
