Job Summary
The Business Development Sales Manager is responsible for developing and nurturing the company’s distribution customers in the assigned region by maintaining and improving client relationships within Canada. Additionally, they will serve as a liaison between these accounts and their customers by addressing needs and concerns to develop and maintain strong relationships. This position is responsible for increasing sales growth, profitability and identifying new opportunities. The Business Development Sales Manager will report directly to the Director of Sales, Canada.

Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain and improve distribution relationships.
- Negotiate regional sales agreements and contracts with assigned regional distribution accounts.
- Set and monitor sales forecasted targets and budgets.
- Close new sales and achieve or exceed sales targets.
- Prioritizing customer satisfaction.
- Collect and analyze sales data and trends.
- Establish monthly touch base meetings with market VP’s and key distribution contacts.
- Present performance to management regularly
- Provide constant communication with all levels of the commercial sales team.
Operations
- Partner with distributors to understand their business needs and objectives.
- Effectively communicate the value proposition through proposals/contracts and presentations.
- Understand category-specific and geographical landscapes and trends.
- Report on forces that shift tactical budgets and strategic direction of accounts to the Director of Sales, Canada.
- Collaborate with the Commercial Sales Directors to implement strategies, maintain product, pricing, promotion alignment, and discipline within specific accounts.
- Monitor and report growth incentive milestones to regional accounts quarterly.
- Responsible for delivering an accurate monthly forecast for sales leadership and providing important insights on customers and the market.
- Set and monitor POD and stock pricing quarterly.
Safety
- Comply with the EH&S Policy and applicable regulatory and company EH&S rules and requirements.
- Report to supervision conditions or practices that are either unsafe or that may adversely impact the environment, to ensure prompt resolution of potential hazards.
- Attend scheduled EH&S training program.
- Actively support the organization’s efforts to meet or exceed EH&S goals and plans.
- Recommend improved EH&S practices.
- Practices safe work habits and follows general safety procedures such as proper lifting and bending, ergonomics, proper use of equipment and use of personal protection equipment (PPE).
- Product Safety and Quality
- Follows Product Safety and Quality standards.
- Follows GMP’s in regard to food contact packaging as it pertains to the employee.
- Follows IPC product defense standards and complies with all SQF requirements.

- Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university; 5+ years related experience and/or training; or 10+ years of equivalent combination of education and experience in business development, sales, distribution or account management within the food industry, food packaging or consumer packaged goods (CPG) sector in the Canadian Market
- Ability to communicate, present and influence all levels of the organization, Including executive and C-level
- Demonstrate outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in managing multi-million-dollar accounts
- Possess excellent negotiation and leadership skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software
- Experience with Salesforce and/or CRM systems
- Must possess a valid Passport or required Visas as position requires regular international travel to the US
- Must possess a vehicle and valid driver’s license as this position involves extensive travel within Canada
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in French is considered an asset
