Equipment Operator – Wireline Support
One of our clients, a major oil and gas company has tasked us with identifying an Equipment Operator to support their upcoming winter drilling program. This contract opportunity is expected to begin in November, with the hiring manager actively interviewing candidates now in preparation for drilling operations.
This role will primarily support wireline operations at various field locations. The successful candidate will operate Class 1 commercial vehicles and mobile equipment to transport wireline equipment, tools, and materials to and from drilling and production sites while assisting field crews in the safe execution of daily operations.
This is a mobile position and is not based at a fixed location. Travel to various client sites will be required, with camp accommodations or LOA provided when working away from home. During the winter drilling season, schedules can become highly demanding, with extended hours and significant overtime opportunities available based on operational requirements.
Responsibilities
- Support wireline operations at drilling and production locations.
- Operate Class 1 commercial vehicles to transport wireline equipment, tools, and materials.
- Mobilize and demobilize equipment between facilities and field locations.
- Assist with the setup, operation, and teardown of wireline equipment as required.
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain required documentation.
- Load, secure, transport, and unload equipment safely and in accordance with company procedures.
- Maintain compliance with client, company, and regulatory safety standards.
- Support field crews with operational activities while working in remote and challenging environments.
- Report equipment deficiencies and coordinate maintenance requirements when necessary.
Qualifications
- Valid Class 1 Driver's License is strongly preferred.
- Previous wireline experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting drilling, completions, or oilfield operations.
- Ability to operate commercial vehicles and mobile equipment safely.
- Strong understanding of oilfield safety practices and procedures.
- Ability to work extended shifts during peak drilling activity.
- Willingness to travel and work at various field locations with camp or LOA provided.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a field operations team.
