As a growing organization, we are looking for a detail-oriented and dependable Accounting Clerk / Bookkeeper to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting both customers and vendors in a professional manner.
Position Summary
The Accounting Clerk / Bookkeeper is responsible for the day-to-day management of accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank and account reconciliations, and general accounting administration. The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring accurate financial records, timely collections and payments, and effective support of month-end accounting activities.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable
- Process and post daily customer payments and cash receipts.
- Monitor and maintain customer accounts to ensure timely collection of outstanding invoices.
- Follow up on overdue accounts and resolve payment issues professionally.
- Reconcile customer accounts and investigate discrepancies.
- Generate and distribute customer statements and aging reports.
- Work closely with customers, customer service, and sales teams to resolve invoicing disputes.
- Prepare account adjustments, credits, and journal entries as required.
- Support customer service activities during peak periods, including answering inquiries and entering sales orders.
Accounts Payable
- Review vendor invoices for accuracy, approvals, coding, and supporting documentation.
- Enter invoices accurately and ensure timely processing of payments.
- Prepare cheque runs, EFT payments, credit card reconciliations, and expense reports.
- Investigate and resolve purchase order, pricing, and receiving discrepancies with vendors and internal departments.
- Respond to vendor inquiries and maintain positive supplier relationships.
- Reconcile vendor statements and account balances.
- Maintain organized electronic and physical filing systems for accounting documents.
Accounting & Administrative Support
- Perform bank, credit card, and general ledger reconciliations.
- Assist with month-end and year-end accounting processes.
- Prepare journal entries and supporting schedules.
- Support external accountants and auditors with requested documentation.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Assist with special projects and other administrative duties as required.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in accounts receivable, collections, and account reconciliations.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in accounts payable and payment processing.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices.
- Experience preparing journal entries and performing account reconciliations.
- Experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, QuickBooks Enterprise, Sage, or similar accounting software.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience working with accounting and ERP software.
- Ability to analyze financial information and identify discrepancies.

Important Note
Healthy Selections operates in alignment with the Ontario school calendar and experiences seasonal fluctuations in business activity. As a result, work schedules may be reduced and temporary layoffs may occur during school breaks and the summer period. Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
