The Opportunity
TDG is currently seeking a Day Shift Supervisor for our Richmond Hill Distribution Center. If you are a team player and have a positive attitude, then consider an opportunity with Tire Discounter Group.
Requirements:
· Minimum 3 to 5 years of related experience and/or prior experience supervising a warehouse
· Effective oral, written communication and execution skills
· Self-starter, innovative and able to work in a fast-paced environment

· Proficient in MS Office: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook

· Prior experience with WMS (Warehouse Management System) and Knowledge of RF (Radio Frequency)
· Vast experience handling and completing distribution documents (Packing list, BOL’s, Invoices)
· 2 to 3 years of forklift experience with a valid license
· Ability to lift over 50 lbs. repeatedly
Responsibilities:
· Supervises the shipping, receiving, storage, delivering and transferring of goods from and to our TDG branches and customers
· Maintains inventory accuracy by auditing shipping and receiving process, conducting daily cycle counts, annual inventories and report all variances for reconciliation
· Supports other shifts and warehouse staff when necessary
· Monitors staffing levels especially during peak seasons, absences, vacations and approve payroll for worked hours
· Training and coaching of new employees as well as assigning, scheduling, counseling, and disciplining employees
· Performs employee evaluations and recommends changes, terminations, compensations etc.
· Meets daily with the staff to communicate job expectations and monitor performance
· Ensures all employees are always following TDG regulations and policies
· Ensures maintenance of all warehouse equipment and keeps equipment operating by enforcing operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, preventive maintenance, calling for repairs.
· Ensures all employees are keeping the warehouse neat, tidy and free of clutter by often performing facility inspections
· Communicates regularly and effectively with warehouse manager and senior management to resolve problems and identify warehouse improvements
· Drives the importance of workplace safety both morally and financially throughout the warehouse, understands and follows applicable laws, regulations and company health and safety standards; ensures that all policies and procedures are monitored, adhered to and updated regularly to ensure compliance.
· Secures warehouse by turning alarms on, testing systems.
· Performs compulsory overtime as necessary and in accordance with legislative requirements
