ABOUT C.E TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS LTD.
C.E Technology Solutions Ltd. is a Sarnia-based security systems integrator serving residential, commercial, industrial, and municipal clients across Southwestern Ontario. We specialize in intrusion alarm systems, fire alarm monitoring, CCTV and video surveillance, access control, and communications services. As our project portfolio continues to expand, we are seeking an experienced leader to help direct and develop our installation team. We are committed to maintaining a professional, respectful, and positive working environment, and we consider this an essential part of how we operate.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a Lead Installation Technician (Installation Technician Supervisor) to provide day-to-day leadership of our installation team. This is a working leadership position: the successful candidate will direct and support installation technicians on active job sites while also completing service calls and installation projects independently as operational needs require.
No experience in the security or network industry is required for this role. We are looking for a proven construction professional — someone who is highly competent with tools, understands proper installation and fastening procedures across different building materials, and has led crews or managed projects in a trade such as carpentry, electrical, plumbing, or general construction. We will provide full training on our security systems, including DSC NEO alarm systems, CCTV, and access control. Experience in the security or electrical industry is an asset, but it is not required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Team Leadership & Supervision
- Lead, direct, and mentor installation technicians on job sites, assigning tasks and overseeing daily workflow
- Ensure all installations meet company standards for quality, safety, and workmanship
- Provide on-site training, technical guidance, and support to junior technicians
- Coordinate with the Owner / Operations Lead on scheduling, project status, and resource requirements
- Foster a professional, collaborative, and positive team environment
Installation & Commissioning
- Mount and install security devices — alarm panels, keypads, detectors, cameras, and access control hardware — cleanly, securely, and in appropriate locations (full training provided on the systems themselves)
- Apply proper procedures and fastening methods when working with different building materials, including concrete, wood, drywall, drop ceiling tiles, metal studs, and masonry
- Run and terminate low-voltage cabling and maintain a clean, professional finish in all work areas, including above ceilings and in finished spaces
- Oversee commissioning and final verification of completed systems prior to client handover
Service & Troubleshooting
- Perform service calls and standalone installation projects independently as required (following training)
- Diagnose and resolve physical installation issues, and develop system troubleshooting skills through Company-provided training
- Read and interpret drawings, wiring diagrams, and installation documentation
- Complete accurate service records and documentation for every site visit
Customer Service
- Represent C.E Technology Solutions professionally at all client sites
- Communicate clearly with clients, explaining technical matters in plain language
- Train customers on system operation and use
- Prioritize and manage multiple jobs and service calls efficiently
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Required
- Substantial hands-on construction or trades experience — no security or network industry experience necessary
- High competence with hand and power tools
- Strong working knowledge of what is and is not acceptable when mounting devices and hardware, and of proper procedures for working with different materials, including concrete, wood, drywall, drop ceiling tiles, and similar building materials — the kind of knowledge that comes with carpentry or similar trades experience
- Demonstrated leadership experience — for example, as a construction manager, electrical manager, plumbing manager, foreman, site supervisor, or crew lead
- Strong interpersonal skills and a professional, positive approach consistent with our workplace culture
- Willingness to learn security systems through Company-provided training, including DSC NEO alarm systems
- Ability to work independently in the field and manage projects from start to finish
- Strong attention to detail — neat, clean, and properly finished installations are a must
- Valid Ontario G driver's license with a clean driving record
Assets (Not Required)
- Experience in the security or electrical industry
- Experience with CCTV, access control, alarm systems, or structured cabling
- Experience with DSC or other alarm system platforms
- Familiarity with low-voltage wiring and terminations
- Working at Heights certification
- WHMIS certification
- First Aid certification
- Lift / aerial work platform training
- Experience on active construction sites
WHAT WE OFFER
- Full, hands-on training on our security systems — including DSC NEO alarm systems, CCTV, access control, and ULC inspection procedures — no prior security experience needed
- Competitive compensation based on experience
- A leadership role with direct influence over how our installation team operates and grows
- A diverse range of work — residential, commercial, industrial, and municipal projects
- A professional, respectful, and positive work environment
- Opportunity to grow with a company that is actively expanding its certifications and service offerings
- Company vehicle or vehicle allowance (details to be discussed)
