Position Overview
Zighra is looking for a highly hands-on Field Systems Specialist to support hardware prototyping, sensor integration, drone/UAS setup, field deployments, and rapid experimentation activities.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building and troubleshooting real-world systems and is comfortable working across hardware, drones, electronics, prototyping, and operational field testing.
Responsibilities
- Support assembly and integration of RF sensing and field systems
- Configure and maintain drone/UAS platforms and related hardware
- Perform hardware prototyping, wiring, soldering, and system integration
- Support 3D printing, enclosure preparation, and rapid prototyping activities
- Prepare systems for demonstrations, testing, and operational deployments
- Troubleshoot hardware, networking, and field deployment issues
- Assist with inventory, documentation, and deployment checklists
- Support rapid iteration cycles for defence and dual-use technology projects
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with hardware systems, electronics, robotics, drones, or prototyping
- Experience with tools such as Raspberry Pi, NVIDIA Jetson, Arduino, or embedded systems
- Familiarity with Linux, networking, power systems, and field deployments
- Experience with 3D printing, CAD, or fabrication tools is an asset
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working independently in fast-paced environments
- Interest in defence, RF sensing, autonomous systems, or advanced technology development
Nice to Have
- Experience with SDRs, RF systems, antennas, or wireless communications
- Drone/UAS maintenance or operational experience
- Electronics or mechatronics background
- Makerspace, robotics club, or field systems experience
- Canadian defence or public safety project exposure
