Dunblaine School is seeking an enthusiastic and innovative STEM Teacher to join our team for the 2026–2027 school year.
We are looking for an educator who is passionate about science, technology, engineering, and mathematics and who enjoys creating engaging, hands-on learning experiences for students with diverse learning needs. This is an exciting opportunity to shape and grow our STEM program while supporting the school’s technology initiatives in a collaborative, student-centred environment.
About Dunblaine School
Dunblaine School is a small independent school serving students in Grades 1–8 with learning differences, including Learning Disabilities (LD), ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (Level 1), executive functioning challenges, and anxiety. Our small class sizes allow us to personalize learning and help every student discover their strengths.
Responsibilities
* Design and deliver engaging STEM lessons that foster creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
* Teach coding, robotics, engineering design, computational thinking, and digital literacy using age-appropriate technologies.
* Integrate STEM learning across subject areas through hands-on, project-based experiences.
* Utilize Apple technology to enhance teaching and learning, including iPads.
* Incorporate assistive technology to support students with learning disabilities, including speech-to-text, text-to-speech, predictive text, digital organization tools, and other accessibility supports.
* Provide support for the school’s technology infrastructure, including assisting with the setup, maintenance, organization, and troubleshooting of student and staff devices, educational software, and classroom technology.
* Help manage educational technology platforms, Apple devices, user accounts, and technology resources to ensure they are effectively integrated throughout the school.
* Collaborate with teachers to build confidence in using technology and assistive technology in the classroom.
* Differentiate instruction to meet a variety of learning profiles and abilities.
* Collaborate with classroom teachers, Educational Assistants, and other professionals to create meaningful learning experiences.
* Support school-wide STEM initiatives, makerspace activities, and technology integration.
Qualifications
* Ontario College of Teachers certification (preferred) or equivalent teaching qualifications.
* Experience teaching in an independent or private school setting.
* Strong background in STEM education and educational technology.
* Demonstrated experience with Apple technology in an educational environment.
* Knowledge of assistive technology and accessibility tools that support students with learning disabilities.
* Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving.
Preferred Experience
* Robotics
* Coding
* Google Workspace for Education and Microsoft 365
* Assistive technology including Google Read & Write, speech-to-text, text-to-speech, and other accessibility tools
* Experience administering or interpreting educational assessment platforms such as Aimsweb is considered a strong asset.
* Teaching students with diverse learning needs.
