We are Joe's Family Pharmacy - Esquimalt, an independent, locally-owned & operated pharmacy dedicated to provide our communities with the best personalized healthcare services.
We are hiring a part-time Licensed Practical Nurse to join our growing team! In this role you will cruise around Esquimalt, Victoria, and Saanich in a company vehicle providing essential nursing care and support to patients, ensuring their health and comfort. Our clients are diverse and require medications daily, including insulin & diabetes care, Opioid Agonist Treatment, injections & vaccinations, and patch applications. We visit independent residences, seniors care facilities, and support facilities.
This is a part-time role for Saturdays and Sundays shifts during the hours of 0730-1600, with future opportunities to pickup shifts when needed or increase weekly hours.
Responsibilities:
- Administer medications and monitor patient responses to treatments in their home
- Provide direct patient care and support in a compassionate manner
- Collaborate with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes
- Educate patients and their families about medications and health management
- Complete all required policies, procedures, and documentation
Requirements:
- Current & active license as a Licensed Practical Nurse in BC with good standing
- Saturday & Sunday availability
- Experience in diabetes care is an asset
- Experience in addictions care preferred
- Strong skills in medication administration and patient assessment
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Valid Canadian Driver's License
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients and healthcare staff
- Current resident of the greater Victoria areas
