Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing ingredients, cooking dishes, and assisting in menu execution to ensure high-quality food service. Duties
- Prepare and portion ingredients according to recipes and menu specifications
- Cook a variety of dishes with attention to presentation and quality standards
- Assist in menu planning and development, ensuring consistency and creativity
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper food handling and storage
- Follow food safety guidelines and sanitation procedures at all times
- Support catering events and special functions as needed
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively, including knives and other culinary tools
- Assist with meal preparation for both dine-in service and takeout orders
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or culinary roles, preferably in fine dining or restaurant settings
- Strong knife skills and familiarity with various cooking techniques
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with menu planning and meal presentation
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Previous dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus
- Background in catering or food service industries is advantageous
