Your Role in Supporting Our Members:
As a Senior Systems Analyst (IT), you will act as a key liaison between Finance business teams and IT, playing a critical role in bridging business needs with technology solutions. You will analyze complex business functions, translate requirements into technical specifications, and lead the analysis, design, and delivery of solutions supporting core financial systems. Leveraging deep analytical expertise, you will guide solution design and ensure systems are scalable, efficient, and aligned with enterprise architecture. This role is ideal for a strategic and collaborative professional who is passionate about improving systems and processes to enable business success.
This is a Full‑time, Permanent role based at our Vancity head office and will report directly to the Manager, Application Technology (Finance IT). Our head office is based in Vancouver, but we are open to candidates in BC and Ontario. While this position is for an existing vacancy and provides a remote work arrangement, you will be expected to be onsite for events and business demands.
How You'll Make an Impact:
- Lead end-to-end requirements analysis by gathering, analyzing, and documenting complex business and finance needs, and translating them into clear functional and technical specifications
- Partner with Finance stakeholders (FP&A, Accounting, Treasury) and cross-functional teams to analyze processes, identify system needs, and uncover optimization opportunities
- Assess current system capabilities and recommend scalable improvements aligned with business objectives and enterprise architecture
- Design and recommend end-to-end solutions, including system integrations, data flows, and reporting structures
- Perform data analysis, validation, and trend identification to support decision-making and guide technical design
- Support the delivery of stable, efficient systems through implementations, enhancements, upgrades, and ongoing improvements across enterprise platforms (e.g., ERP, reporting, data platforms)
- Collaborate with developers, architects, vendors, and internal partners to deliver high-quality, effective technology solutions
- Provide production support, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution of system issues and incidents
- Identify risks, dependencies, and improvement opportunities across systems, processes, and projects, and recommend practical solutions
- Prepare analytical reports and deliver actionable insights to support business and technology decisions
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior analysts and contribute to best practices in analysis, documentation, and solution delivery
What You’ll Bring to the Team:
- Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in systems analysis, business analysis, application support, or a related IT role
- Strong ability to analyze complex business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions
- Solid understanding of financial systems and processes (e.g., General Ledger, reporting, planning)
- Experience with SQL, data analysis, system integrations/APIs, and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI or similar)
- Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and delivery frameworks
- Strong business acumen, preferably within the financial services industry
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders and provide technical guidance
- Strong problem-solving, research, and analytical skills to assess risks, identify trends, and inform recommendations
- Familiarity with enterprise systems, software, and organizational processes in a corporate environment
Extra Skills That Set You Apart:
- Experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery environments
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Sage, SAP, Oracle, Workday)
- Familiarity with enterprise data platforms, ETL pipelines, and system integrations
- Experience within financial services, preferably in a credit union environment
- Knowledge of Vancity’s strategies, programs, and internal systems

What You’ll Earn:
This role offers a salary range of $92,700 to $125,400 per annum. The base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications, skills, previous experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package, employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
