Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in equipment maintenance, electrical systems, and mechanical repairs. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining heavy machinery and equipment to ensure optimal operational efficiency. The Heavy Duty Mechanic will play a vital role in supporting our team with technical expertise and proactive maintenance strategies. This position will require operating and maintaining a Ford F550 service truck around the Fort St. John/Peace Region. The position is based out of Fort St. John with some camp work required. Shifts can be discussed upon initial interview.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics and repairs on heavy-duty machinery, including engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals to identify issues and execute precise repairs.
- Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities
- Welding experience
- HVAC experience
- Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with industry standards during all maintenance activities on site.
- Collaborate with team members to improve maintenance procedures and equipment reliability.
Requirements
- Proven experience in heavy equipment repairs and maintenance
- Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy-duty equipment and systems.
- Electrical experience in 12 and 24v systems
- Welding experience
- HVAC experience
- Ability to analyze complex mechanical and electrical issues efficiently.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with strong customer service orientation.
- Good communication skills in English for effective team collaboration.
Pay: $42.00-$48.00 per hour
