The Formwork Carpenter is responsible for constructing, assembling, modifying, maintaining, and repairing forms and molds used in the production of precast concrete products. Working within the Precast facility, this role ensures that forms are built accurately to engineering specifications, allowing for the safe and efficient production of high-quality concrete products.
The successful candidate will possess strong carpentry skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret drawings and measurements. This position plays a critical role in supporting production schedules, maintaining quality standards, and contributing to a safe and productive work environment.
Form Construction & Maintenance
- Build, assemble, modify, and dismantle wood and steel forms used in precast concrete production.
- Read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and production specifications.
- Measure, cut, and assemble materials to precise dimensions and tolerances.
- Repair and maintain existing forms and molds to ensure continued production efficiency.
- Install form liners, blockouts, inserts, anchors, and embedded components as required.
- Ensure forms are properly aligned, braced, and secured before concrete placement.
Production Support
- Work closely with production personnel to ensure forms are prepared according to production schedules.
- Assist with form stripping and preparation for subsequent production cycles.
- Verify dimensions and specifications before concrete placement.
- Collaborate with quality control personnel to maintain product quality standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to production efficiency and quality.
Equipment & Tool Maintenance
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and woodworking equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections of tools and equipment.
- Report equipment deficiencies or repair requirements to supervision.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas.
Health & Safety
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Participate in safety meetings and training programs.
- Identify and report unsafe conditions, hazards, or incidents immediately.
- Maintain housekeeping standards throughout the facility.
General Labour & Team Support
- Assist with other production-related activities as required.
- Support team members in achieving daily production goals.
- Contribute to a positive, respectful, and team-oriented workplace culture.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Additional Information:
- Work is performed primarily within a manufacturing and precast concrete production facility.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, lifting, and carrying materials.
- Regular exposure to dust, noise, vibration, and varying temperatures.
- Occasional overtime may be required to meet production demands.
- Must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs regularly.

Pay: $28.00-$33.00 per hour
