A Hoe Operator is responsible for operating heavy equipment, such as excavators/backhoes, to assist with construction, excavation, trenching, loading, and site preparation projects.
Location: Leduc, AB
Pay: $35-40/hr
Job Type: 1month project- could extend based on projects/performance
Responsibilities
- Operate excavators/hoes safely and efficiently
- Dig trenches, foundations, and ditches
- Load and move materials such as dirt, gravel, and debris
- Perform site preparation and grading
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
- Follow safety procedures and site regulations
- Work closely with ground crews and supervisors
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Requirements
- Previous experience operating excavators/hoes
- Valid heavy equipment certification is considered an asset
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Strong understanding of safety procedures
- Reliable transportation and punctuality
- Physically fit and comfortable working long hours if required
Preferred Skills
- Experience with GPS grading systems
- Knowledge of construction and utility work
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
