Summary
We are seeking skilled Underground Heavy Duty Mechanics to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy equipment, ensuring their proper functionality and safety.
Roles & Responsibilities
Main Duties
- Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
- Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems, using hand and power tools
- Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications
- Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment
ATI Canada specific HD Mechanic Roles and Responsibilities
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment
- Operate computer-based software for troubleshooting
- Acknowledge and adhere to all safety standards as outlined by ATI Canada and the client
- Complete paperwork, reports, and inspections accurately, keep them current and organized
- Maintain positive interactions with co-workers, clients, supervisors, treating everyone with respect
- Adhere to ATI Canada accommodations policies.
- Complete and submit daily timesheets in an accurate and timely manner
- Assist management in challenging and improving the health and safety program to meet the ever-changing needs of the work site.
- Shall participate in the company’s safety program, understanding that safety is everyone’s role and is a part of their everyday duties.
- Will carry out work in a manner so as not to create a hazard for themselves, their fellow workers, management, supervisors, or anyone on site.
- Shall not operate any equipment that they have not received proper training
- Will assist site management by sharing expertise when asked and by working to help create a safe workplace.
Qualifications
- Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic (Off-Road) Certification is required
- 2+ years of relevant experience in a HD Field Mechanic position
- Sandvik underground equipment experience required
- Mining background is highly preferred
- Welding and fabrication experience is an asset
- Class 5 driver’s license / clean driver's abstract needed
- Possesses excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills and abilities able to develop solutions quickly
Underground Mining Experience on some of the Following:
- Sandvik Underground Equipment
- CAT Underground Equipment
Employment Package:
- $67/hr + 4% Vacation Pay
- Attractive 14/14 work schedule; rotating day/night shift
- 12-hour shifts per day
- Hours Worked Averaging Arrangement (HWAA) applies
- Time and a half paid for overtime worked after the HWAA hours have been reached
- Camp accommodations provided
- Flights / transportation to / from nearest major home base airport
