Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will play a key role in the ongoing success of our landscaping team. This is a permanent full-time position.
Landscape Foreman
We are looking for an experienced Landscape Foreman to lead crews in the field and help deliver high-quality landscaping and hardscaping projects. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who takes pride in quality work, communicates well with team members and clients, and leads by example on every job site. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and comfortable balancing production, crew leadership, and jobsite problem-solving.
Position Summary
The Landscape Foreman is responsible for supervising day-to-day field operations, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. This position works closely with management to carry out project plans, keep crews on task, maintain quality control, and support a positive team culture. A strong candidate will be someone who enjoys working outdoors, leading by example, and helping the team succeed through coaching and clear direction.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise landscape crews on active job sites.
- Set daily tasks, assign work fairly, and keep the team moving productively.
- Read and interpret plans, layouts, and job instructions.
- Maintain quality control and ensure work meets company standards and client expectations.
- Communicate with project managers, supervisors, clients, and team members as needed.
- Monitor job progress, materials, equipment, and site conditions.
- Help identify and solve issues in the field before they affect schedule or quality.
- Support a respectful, team-oriented work environment.
- Train and mentor crew members through coaching, teaching, and leading by example.
- Ensure safety practices are followed and hazards are addressed promptly.
- Keep jobsites organized, professional, and efficient.

- Proven experience in landscaping, hardscaping, or construction supervision.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work alongside the crew while directing the job.
- Good judgment, initiative, and problem-solving ability.
- A positive attitude and willingness to help others learn and improve.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage time, materials, and people effectively.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced outdoor environment.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a foreman, lead hand, or crew leader.
- Knowledge of landscape construction, softscape installation, hardscape work, grading, drainage, and plant installation.
- Ability to read site plans and follow specifications.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to operate common landscaping tools and equipment.
- Occupational First Aid, Fall Protection, or other safety tickets are an asset.
Working Conditions
This role is primarily field-based and requires spending most of the day on-site with the crew. The work is physical and involves lifting, bending, kneeling, working outdoors in varying weather, and operating tools and equipment. Flexibility is important, as jobsite priorities can change and the foreman may need to adapt quickly to keep work on track.
