Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Articling Student to join our legal team. This position offers a valuable opportunity to gain practical experience in the legal field, working closely with experienced attorneys on a variety of cases and legal matters. The Articling Student will play an integral role in supporting the firm’s operations while developing essential skills and knowledge necessary for a successful legal career. This paid internship is ideal for individuals pursuing admission to the bar and looking to deepen their understanding of legal processes and client advocacy.
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with case research, document preparation, and legal filings
- Draft legal documents, correspondence, and reports under supervision
- Attend client meetings, court proceedings, and depositions as needed
- Conduct legal research on relevant statutes, regulations, and case law
- Organize and maintain case files to ensure accuracy and confidentiality
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing correspondence
- Participate in internal training sessions, seminars, and professional development activities
- Observe courtroom proceedings to gain insight into litigation processes
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a recognized law school program
- Strong interest in practicing law with a focus on client service and ethical standards
- Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
- Prior internship or related experience in a legal setting is a plus but not required
