Experienced Dental Receptionist / Front Desk Coordinator
Bellesmere Dental is seeking an experienced Dental Receptionist or Front Desk Coordinator to join our family dental practice in Scarborough.
We are looking for someone who is professional, organized, dependable, and confident managing the responsibilities of a busy dental front desk. This role is central to the patient experience and to keeping the office schedule, communication, and administrative systems running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and professionally
- Answer incoming calls and respond to patient inquiries
- Schedule, confirm, reschedule, and coordinate appointments using Open Dental
- Make reminder calls and follow up with patients as needed
- Manage recalls and help maintain an organized, productive schedule
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain benefit information
- Prepare and submit insurance forms, estimates, and predeterminations
- Process patient payments and maintain accurate account information
- Update patient records and demographic information
- Communicate effectively with dentists, hygienists, assistants, and front-desk team members
- Help resolve patient concerns and scheduling issues calmly and professionally
- Complete additional administrative duties as required
What We Are Looking For
- Previous dental reception or dental administration experience
- Experience using Open Dental is strongly preferred
- Knowledge of dental terminology, insurance procedures, billing, recalls, and scheduling
- Strong telephone, communication, and customer-service skills
- Excellent organization and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and remain composed in a busy environment
- Dependable, punctual, professional, and team-oriented
- Comfortable using computers and learning digital office systems
- Additional languages are an asset
