Job Description:
Vinyl and Heat Transfer Technician
We are seeking a detail-oriented Vinyl Department Technician to join our Custom Apparel and Promotional Products team. In this role, you will be responsible for heat pressing garments, setting up and operating the vinyl cutter, and ensuring high-quality output. The ideal candidate will have a strong eye for detail, the ability to follow written instructions closely, and the capability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Heat Press Setup & Application: Setup and operate heat press machines to apply vinyl designs to garments with precision, ensuring the right temperature, pressure, and time for perfect transfers.
- Vinyl Cutter Setup & Operation: Set up and operate vinyl cutter machines to accurately cut designs for custom apparel orders, adjusting settings based on job specifications.
- Laser Etching and Cutting Machine Setup & Operation: Set up and operate Laser machine to accurately cut and etch designs for custom orders, adjusting settings based on job specifications.
- Quality Control: Inspect each garment after heat pressing to ensure designs are properly applied, checking for any imperfections or inconsistencies, and performing necessary adjustments.
- Schedule Management: Manage and update the production schedule, ensuring that orders are completed on time and deadlines are met. Work with the Operations Team Lead to prioritize jobs based on customer needs and production timelines.
- Documentation & Instructions: Follow written instructions and work orders to ensure accurate designs are produced and customer specifications are met. Ensure proper filing of production files and notes to each order. Ensure correct workorder statuses and numbers are used.
- Material Management & Machine Maintenance: Organize and maintain inventory of vinyl materials and other supplies, ensuring that materials are properly stored and available for production. Ensure all cleaning and maintenance duties are completed and recorded on time to specifications of equipment.
- Troubleshooting: Address minor issues with machines or equipment and report any major problems to the Operations Team Lead for maintenance or repairs.
- Safety & Work Environment: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace, adhering to safety guidelines and company policies.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a vinyl cutting or heat pressing role is as asset.
- High attention to detail and quality control is required to ensure all designs match production files and are applied correctly and consistently.
- Ability to set up and operate vinyl cutters and heat press machines.
- Ability to set up and operate laser machine and follow all safety protocol.
- Strong computer skills are necessary.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to update and manage production files efficiently.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions carefully. (English)
- Comfortable standing for long periods of time and able to lift up to 40lbs as needed.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot basic machine issues.
- Excellent time management skills, able to handle multiple tasks while maintaining focus on quality.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with the team.

Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
