Overview
We are seeking a passionate and qualified Secondary Arts Education Teacher (Grades 9-12) to join our Fall Semester (September-December) with the possibility of extension into the Winter semester upon satisfactory performance.
Qualifications
- Valid BC Teaching Certificate or Independent School Teaching Certificate (ISTC)
- Relevant university degree(s) in the subject area
- Experience teaching BC Curriculum
- Experience teaching AP-level courses is an asset
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Commitment to student academic success

Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards in Arts Education.
- Deliver engaging classroom instruction using various teaching methods and technology tools like Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
- Provide tutoring and additional support to students needing extra help to succeed academically.
- Assess student progress through assignments, tests, and projects; provide constructive feedback.
- Foster an inclusive classroom environment that accommodates students with special needs or disabilities.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and behavioral reports.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student performance and behavior.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, school events, and extracurricular activities.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices.
- Utilize strong organizational and time management skills to balance teaching responsibilities effectively.
