We are seeking a highly skilled and reliable Edge Band operator to join our clients manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining edge banding machinery to apply to wood-based panels, ensuring high quality finishes that meet customer specifications. Attention to details, machine operation experience, and a commitment to quality are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate and adjust edge banding machines to production requirements.
- Read and interpret production drawings, cutting lists and work orders.
- Apply edge banding to MDF, chipboard, plywood, laminate and other panel products.
- Ensure correct edging material, colour, and thickness are used for each job.
- Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to achieve high quality finish.
- Inspect components for quality, ensuring edges are smooth, secure, and free from defect.
- Carry out machine maintenance and daily cleaning
- Work closely with CNC operators, bench joiners, and assembly teams to meet production schedules.
- Maintain accurate production records where required.
- Follow all health & Safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE.
Experience
- Previous experience operating edge banding machines.
- Experience within a joinery, furniture manufacturing or woodworking environment.
- Ability to read technical drawings
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
- Good understanding of woodworking materials and edging products.
