Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced L1 Application Support Developer with Java skills to provide technical and production support for business-critical applications.
The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of experience in application/production support, hands-on knowledge of Java, strong troubleshooting capabilities, and the ability to communicate effectively in both French and English.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide L1 application and production support for Java-based applications.
- Monitor applications, services, scheduled jobs, and system alerts.
- Troubleshoot and resolve user-reported technical and application issues.
- Analyze application logs, error messages, and system alerts to identify issues.
- Perform basic Java code-level investigation and debugging.
- Handle incidents, service requests, and support tickets within defined SLAs.
- Escalate complex issues to L2/L3 and development teams with appropriate analysis and documentation.
- Perform basic database queries and data validation using SQL.
- Support application availability and day-to-day production operations.
- Coordinate with development, infrastructure, database, and business teams.
- Maintain incident records, troubleshooting documentation, and knowledge-base articles.
- Communicate effectively with users and stakeholders in French and English.
Required Skills
- 3–5 years of experience in Application Support, Production Support, Technical Support, or a similar role.
- Hands-on knowledge of Java.
- Understanding of Java/J2EE-based applications.
- Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix commands and environments.
- Understanding of REST APIs, web services, and application integrations.
- Experience analyzing application and server logs.
- Familiarity with ticketing tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, or similar platforms.
- Understanding of incident management and production-support processes.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced support environment.
Mandatory Language Requirement
Bilingual French & English proficiency is mandatory.
Candidates must be comfortable communicating with users, technical teams, and business stakeholders in both French and English, verbally and in writing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline.
- Experience supporting enterprise or business-critical applications.
- Exposure to Spring / Spring Boot is an advantage.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools.
- ITIL knowledge or certification is an advantage.
Pay: $56,451.02-$155,450.45 per year
