We are currently hiring a Head Chef — one for Mati and one for EVOO Greek Kitchen.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced culinary leader who is passionate about creating outstanding food, developing high-performing teams, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and consistency.
About the Role
As Head Chef, you will oversee all aspects of kitchen operations while leading and inspiring your team to deliver exceptional service every day. You will work closely with ownership and management to uphold each restaurant's unique identity while driving operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop the kitchen team
- Foster a positive, professional, and accountable kitchen culture
- Ensure exceptional food quality, consistency, and presentation
- Manage daily kitchen operations and service execution
- Create and execute seasonal menu features and specials
- Maintain food costing and labour targets
- Oversee ordering, inventory, and supplier relationships
- Minimize waste and maximize kitchen efficiency
- Ensure all health, safety, and sanitation standards are consistently met
- Recruit, train, and onboard new kitchen team members
- Collaborate with front-of-house leadership to deliver an exceptional guest experience
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve systems, quality, and profitability
Qualifications
- 5+ years of culinary leadership experience in an upscale, fine dining, scratch kitchen
- Previous experience as a Head Chef, Executive Sous Chef, or Chef de Cuisine
- Strong leadership and team development skills
- Experience with inventory management, food costing, and labour management
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Passion for hospitality and creating exceptional guest experiences
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
