About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeping, Payroll & Administrative Associate to join our small, collaborative public accounting firm located in west‑end Mississauga (Dundas & Winston Churchill). This full‑time contract role offers the opportunity to work closely with a supportive team across a wide range of clients and industries.
This position is ideal for someone with strong hands‑on bookkeeping & payroll experience who is confident and able to manage multiple responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Bookkeeping
· Perform full-cycle bookkeeping for a variety of clients
- Maintain and update financial records, including ledgers, invoices, receipts, and payments
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements
· Preparation and filing of HST returns
· Other government compliance reporting as required
· Generate financial reports (monthly, quarterly, and annual) for clients
Payroll
· Prepare ongoing and year‑end payroll (T4s and T4As) for a variety of clients
· Process source withholdings, WSIB, and EHT remittances
· Support payroll‑related client inquiries
Administrative Support
· Daily office administration to support management
· Communicating with clients by phone and email
· Assisting with general workflow in a paperless office environment
Additional Duties
· Exposure to an expanding range of tasks including personal and corporate tax returns
Qualifications
· Minimum 2-3 years of relevant bookkeeping and payroll experience; preference to those with experience in public accounting
· Completed post secondary certificate, diploma or degree in accounting or bookkeeping
· Strong understanding of payroll fundamentals and legislation within the province of Ontario
· Proficiency with QuickBooks (desktop and online) is required
· Experience with payroll software is essential; knowledge of Easypay is a plus
· Microsoft Office Suite; Intermediate Excel skills are an asset
· Strong organizational and time‑management abilities
· Able to prioritize and manage multiple assignments while producing work that demonstrates attention to detail
· Strong work ethic with a high level of accuracy and accountability
· Mature judgment, problem‑solving skills, and professionalism
· Excellent written, verbal, and phone communication skills
· Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Job Details
· Job Type: Full‑time, Contract
· Salary: $55,000 – $60,000 (dependant on relevant experience)
