Excavator Operator / Foundation Repair Technician
Foundation Doctors LTD is looking for an experienced Excavator Operator / Foundation Repair Technician to join our growing team. We specialize in foundation repair, waterproofing, foundation crack repair, weeping tile replacement, sump pump installations, and excavation throughout the Edmonton area.
This position is ideal for someone who is comfortable operating a mini excavator in tight residential spaces and is willing to work alongside the crew performing foundation repair and waterproofing once excavation is complete. We are looking for someone who takes pride in quality workmanship, works safely, and enjoys being part of a hardworking team.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate mini excavators around residential and commercial properties.
- Perform precision excavation around homes while avoiding underground utilities such as gas, electrical, water, sewer, and communication lines.
- Excavate foundations for waterproofing, crack repairs, and weeping tile installations.
- Work safely in tight spaces and confined excavation areas around existing structures.
- Assist with manual excavation when equipment access is limited.
- Help install waterproofing membranes, weeping tile systems, sump pumps, and complete foundation repairs.
- Backfill excavations, perform final grading, and restore job sites.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance.
- Operate hand and power tools safely.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work site.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Represent Foundation Doctors professionally while on customers' properties.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of excavator operating experience is required.
- Experience operating mini excavators in residential environments is required.
- Comfortable working around underground utilities, including gas, electrical, water, sewer, and communication lines.
- Able to safely operate an excavator in tight spaces and confined work areas around homes.
- Willing to perform manual labour and work outside of the excavator whenever excavation work is complete.
- Previous experience in foundation repair, waterproofing, excavation, or construction is considered a strong asset.
- Physically capable of lifting 60+ lbs, digging, carrying materials, climbing ladders, and working in trenches.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license is required.
- Must have reliable transportation to travel to job sites each day.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work well in a team environment.

Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
