Hawk Machine has two other large shops in Linden, Alberta and is rapidly growing with this expansion in Edmonton. As a leading provider of precision machining solutions, we specialize in utilizing advanced DMG-Mori CNC Machines, including 5-Axis and Swiss Machines, to meet the diverse needs of our clients. We are seeking experienced CNC Machinists for both our locations who are proficient in operating DMG-Mori CNC Machines, particularly with expertise in 5-Axis and Swiss Machines Ibarmia's and Doosans. The ideal candidates will have a solid understanding of Heidenhain and Siemens controllers and possess the skills necessary to perform 3+2 machining operations with precision and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize Heidenhain and Siemens controllers to perform 3+2 machining operations
- Monitor machines for efficient and optimal utilization and runtime
- Perform basic machine maintenance to ensure smooth operation
- Run multiple machines as required to meet production demands
- Execute duties with minimal supervision, demonstrating self-reliance and initiative
- Train and mentor apprentices to foster skill development and knowledge transfer
- Ensure reliable completion of assigned tasks within designated timelines
- Adhere to all company health and safety policies to maintain a safe work environment
- Complete all required manufacturing checklists and follow standard operating procedures
- Maintain tools, tooling, equipment, and working area in a clean and organized manner
- Demonstrate willingness to continually improve and update skills to stay current with industry trends
- Verify dimensions of machined parts or tooling using micrometers, verniers, calipers, height gauges, optical comparators, CMM, or other specialized measuring instruments

Additional Skills (Preferred):
- Experience with DMG-Mori CNC Machines, including 5-Axis and Swiss Machines
- Familiarity with other CNC machine brands and models
- Previous experience in a machining or manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and practices
- Certification or training in CNC machining or related field
