Flaggers – Base and Highway Divisions
Responsibilities
- Direct and control traffic safely at construction sites
- Maintain a safe work environment by managing traffic flow, warning crews of approaching hazards, and remaining alert always
- Install, maintain, and remove traffic control devices such as cones, barrels, and warning signs
- Communicate with team members via two-way radios to coordinate traffic flow
- Manage traffic professionally and respond to basic public inquiries
- Perform general labour duties and contribute to the team as needed
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to work overtime and maintain a flexible schedule
- Reliable and dependable
- Comfortable standing for long periods of time
- Strong work ethic and a positive attitude
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to remain calm and handle stressful situations
- Ability to listen carefully and communicate instructions clearly, firmly, and courteously
- CSA-approved steel-toed boots required
- Ability to understand and follow safe job procedures, safe work practices, and company policies
- Willingness to travel and work out of town during the construction season, if required
- High attention to detail and ability to identify and respond to hazards
