Job Summary
Milpa is seeking a skilled and motivated Line Cook to join our Back of House team. This role reports directly to the Head Chef and works closely with the culinary leadership team. As a Line Cook, you are responsible for executing food with consistency, precision, and care. You will play a key role in delivering a high-quality guest experience and positive work environment that reflects the energy and standards Milpa.

Core Responsibilities
- Maintain strong knowledge of Milpa’s menu and standards
- Execute dishes with consistency, accuracy, and attention to detail
- Set up and organize your station for efficient service
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all work areas and equipment
- Support daily prep, ordering awareness, and kitchen organization
- Perform effectively under pressure while maintaining standards
- Assist in Dishwasher duties when needed
Food Safety
- Monitor and log food temperatures appropriately
- Prevent cross-contamination through proper practices
- Label and store all products correctly FIFO
- Maintain strict hand hygiene standards
- Be aware of allergens and proper handling procedures
- Follow all cleaning and sanitization protocols
REQUIREMENTS
Experience
- 1+ year of experience in high-volume food production is ideal but not required
- Understanding of basic culinary techniques, professional cooking equipment and material
- Knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures
- Food Handler’s Certification is a ideal but no required

Physical Demands
- Lifting and/or moving up to 20 lbs. regularly; occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 50 lbs
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00-$18.50 per hour
Expected hours: 20.0 – 30.0 per week
