The Senior Accountant is responsible for full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, bank reconciliations, US tax compliance and filings, and all month-end closing activities. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple recurring deadlines. They will work closely with Accounting Manager, banks, and external accountants to ensure accurate financial reporting and efficient operations.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Manage period end process, including review of journal entries, bank reconciliations, and more

Review reconciliation of accounts on a monthly and annual basis, review of balance sheet accounts and schedules, including multiple intercompany accounts

Ensure integrity of GL, and identify and prevent discrepancies

Manage, track, and reconcile customer rebate programs, including monitoring outstanding rebate balances

Prepare financial statements and analyze financial impacts

Manage various statutory reporting requirements, tax filings and US tax compliance

Heavily involved in year-end audit activities, liaison with external auditors

Prepare weekly cash flow forecast

Maintain monthly checklists, procedures, controls, and signoffs

Assist in continuous improvement activities

Assist in bookkeeping of other group entities as necessary

Perform other reporting and ad hoc requests as required

Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada

Minimum of 2 years in Senior Accountant or Assistant Controller capacity preferably in a deadline driven environment

ERP experience is an asset; solid knowledge of Microsoft Office; excellent proficiency in Excel in particular

Experience in complex multi-entity transactions

Excellent interpersonal and superior communication skills, both orally and in writing

Strong knowledge of Canadian & US GAAP and full cycle accounting

Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy and the ability to multi-task

Organized, self-driven, reliable, analytical thinking, and able to carry out tasks autonomously and collaboratively

The pay range for this role is:
