Direct Bore Inc. is currently hiring a reliable and hardworking individual with a valid AZ or ARZ license and previous experience in the telecommunications construction industry who is interested in learning directional drilling.
This is a hands-on field position for someone who understands telecom construction environments and is comfortable operating commercial vehicles, transporting equipment, and supporting an underground construction crew. Directional drilling experience is not required, as training will be provided to the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate company trucks, trailers and equipment
- Transport drilling equipment, materials and supplies to job sites
- Assist with the setup and operation of directional drilling equipment
- Support the drill operator and crew with daily field activities
- Assist with potholing, mud mixing, conduit installation and equipment maintenance
- Load, secure and unload equipment and materials
- Complete daily vehicle and equipment inspections
- Read and follow construction drawings and work plans
- Maintain a clean and organized truck and work area
- Follow all company and site-specific safety requirements
- Work outdoors in various weather and site conditions
- Travel to job sites throughout Ontario as required
Requirements
- Valid AZ or ARZ driver’s license
- Previous experience in telecommunications construction is required
- Clean driver’s abstract
- Experience driving trucks and towing heavy equipment
- Understanding of underground telecom construction practices
- Comfortable performing physical labour and lifting 50+ lbs
- Willingness to learn directional drilling
- Dependable, punctual and able to work effectively as part of a crew
- Ability to work extended hours when required
- Strong commitment to workplace safety
- Directional drilling, hydrovac, excavation or equipment operating experience is considered an asset
