Kitchen Designer / Millwork Sales Consultant
Coastal Accents Millwork | Victoria, BC (Estevan Village) Full-time | Showroom + site visits | Salary + performance (based on experience)
Build beautiful kitchens. Lead clients with confidence. Sell with substance.
Coastal Accents Millwork is a Victoria-based cabinetry and millwork company specializing in refined, design-forward kitchens, built-ins, and custom storage solutions. We serve homeowners, interior designers, and select builders who care deeply about quality, clarity, and a well-managed experience.
We are hiring a Kitchen Designer to join our designer-led sales team.
This role is for someone who knows kitchens and millwork inside and out. Someone who can walk into a conversation, understand what the client is trying to achieve, and turn that into a thoughtful, buildable, profitable solution.
This is not retail. This is not “send a quote and hope.” It’s consultative, relationship-driven, and detail heavy in the best way.
You should be as comfortable discussing layout, clearances, fillers, hardware, and function as you are leading a client meeting, managing a quote, and closing a project.
This role is for you if:
- You know kitchens, cabinetry, and millwork at a high level
- You can confidently design within real-world construction and installation constraints
- You are polished with clients, but grounded enough to ask smart questions before making promises
- You are organized, detail-driven, and strong at follow-through
- You understand that a great kitchen is not just beautiful, it is functional, buildable, and profitable
- You like owning the front end of a project and taking it from inquiry through signed agreement
- You want to be part of a refined, high-trust brand and help build something exceptional
- Protecting designer and builder relationships (making them feel supported, not competed with)
- Learners will excel here
In this role, you will:
- Respond quickly and professionally to new inquiries from walk-ins, phone calls, web leads, and referrals
- Lead client and designer discovery meetings around goals, function, style, budget, timeline, and scope
- Develop kitchen and millwork concepts that align with the client’s needs, the home, and the project budget
- Prepare layouts, specifications, and proposal packages that are clear enough for pricing, production, and installation teams to rely on
- Guide clients through cabinetry selections, finishes, hardware, accessories, and storage solutions
- Use 2020 to develop accurate kitchen designs and presentation-ready drawing packages
- Review plans, elevations, dimensions, and site conditions with a strong technical lens
- Coordinate measurements, revisions, approvals, and sign-offs prior to production
- Work closely with internal team members and external partners to ensure what is sold can actually be delivered
- Manage quotes, revisions, and change requests with clarity and professionalism
- Maintain an organized pipeline and accurate client records in Google Workspace and other internal systems
- Close work at target margins while protecting the client experience and brand reputation
- Build strong relationships with homeowners, interior designers, and trade partners by being responsive, knowledgeable, and easy to work with
What you must bring:
- 3+ years of experience in kitchen design, cabinetry, millwork, or closely related residential construction/design sales
- Advanced knowledge of cabinetry, millwork construction, kitchen planning, and detailing
- Strong proficiency in 2020
- Strong proficiency in Google Workspace, including Docs, Sheets, Drive, Calendar, and Gmail
- Confidence reading plans, elevations, and dimensions, and identifying gaps or risks before they become problems
- Strong understanding of kitchen function, spatial planning, clearances, and installation realities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A calm, professional approach to handling multiple active opportunities and deadlines
- Strong taste, sound judgment, and the ability to balance design vision with practical execution
- A valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation for site visits and client meetings
Strong assets:
- Experience working with high-end homeowners, interior designers, or custom residential projects
- Experience preparing scopes, specifications, and quote packages
- Familiarity with renovation and construction sequencing
- Experience coordinating with production, estimating, installers, or trades
- Knowledge of Buildertrend, ERP/CRM systems, or quoting workflows
- Confidence presenting design ideas and guiding clients to decisions
What success looks like here:
- Clients feel guided, not sold to
- Designers and builders feel supported, not competed with
- Quotes are accurate, clear, and profitable
- Handoffs to production are clean
- Problems are anticipated early
- Follow-through is strong
- The experience feels polished from first contact to final approval
What we offer
- A refined, values-driven company with high standards and low ego
- Opportunity to be part of the growth of a steady pipeline and strong reputation
- Support from estimating/production/install teams, so you’re not selling in a vacuum
- Training and coaching to support your career growth opportunities.
- Compensation aligned with performance and professionalism (details shared in interview)
