Position Summary
The Warehouse Foreman is responsible for supporting and coordinating the daily operations of the warehouse, ensuring materials and supplies are organized, tracked, and distributed efficiently. While the primary focus will be on the hard goods area, this position remains flexible to support all warehouse functions as needed. The Warehouse Foreman works closely with the Warehouse Coordinator to plan, prioritize, and complete tasks on time while promoting teamwork, safety, biosecurity, and adherence to company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop daily work plans with the Warehouse Coordinator and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
- Guide team members and ensure company policies and procedures are followed.
- Oversee warehouse activities when the Warehouse Coordinator is on vacation.
- Train new employees as needed.
- Maintain accurate inventory records.
- Participate in monthly and quarterly inventory counts.
- Notify Operations when reaching re-order points for hard goods.
- Assist the Warehouse Coordinator in managing the space required for storing hard goods.
- Ensure warehouse areas and all hard goods are organized and stored strategically.
- Maintain labelling and information systems for block loads, and print/provide stickers to the unloading team.
- Receive deliveries, verify paperwork and items received, and organize materials accordingly.
- Provide materials for Block Line and other departments as requested.
- Manage pallets and recycling.
- Deliver spacing trays and Kiem trays to appropriate locations.
- Complete daily forklift inspections.
- Ensure proper PPE is provided and worn by all team members.
- Maintain high standards of biosecurity and cleanliness throughout the greenhouse.
- Overseeing the stick painting process for identifying different plant varieties.
- Empty and clean garbage bins and dumpsters.
- Declutter work areas as needed.
- Assist with other warehouse areas when time permits.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions
- Greenhouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures and humidity levels.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills in English.
- Physical requirements include standing, bending, and lifting moderate weights.
- May be required to work occasional extended hours during peak operational periods.
- Intermediate computer skills (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
- Forklift certification or experience is an asset
- Work schedule: Must be available to work early mornings, late afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
Pay: $22.00 per hour
