Choral Music Director – Hawkestone Singers Choir
The Hawkestone Singers Choir is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Choral Music Director to lead our small, non-profit community choir.
The ideal candidate will help us continue to develop a harmonious choral sound, build singer confidence, and create an enjoyable rehearsal environment as we prepare for two concert events each year. This role includes planning and leading weekly rehearsals, teaching vocal parts and multi-part harmonies, and assisting with music selection.
Our choir has an allowance in the annual budget for the purchase of new music, along with an extensive existing library of choral music. We also have borrowing agreements with several other choirs. Singers are provided with part-specific audio tracks for home practice.
Rehearsals are held once per week for two hours at Hawkestone Hall. The choir owns a full-size keyboard for the Director’s exclusive use during rehearsals.
The Director will be supported by an enthusiastic Board of Directors and members-at-large. The Board meets regularly to manage budgeting, planning, administration, and other operational details of the choir. The Hawkestone Singers Choir has been a valued community presence in the village for more than 30 years.

The successful candidate should have:
- Experience in a similar musical leadership role; prior choir conducting experience is considered an asset.

- The ability to accompany the choir during rehearsals. Accompaniment is not required for concerts.
