Established general machine and welding shop located in Drayton Valley, Alberta. Currently seeking a full or part time Journeyman or Apprentice Welder Monday-Thursday 7-4:30, Friday 7-4, overtime after 8hrs a day. On call 24/7 service with occasional weekend call ins.
The successful applicant must be familiar with or willing to learn the following GMAW, FCAW, SMAW, GTAW processes. Have fabrication experience in shop and field environment, reading blueprints, hand tools and working in a team environment. Welders are required to have sufficient experience or familiarity with the equipment used.
Education, Skills & Experience:
· Must have Journeyman certificate or be a registered apprentice.
· Valid Class 5 Drivers License accident free for a minimum 5 years.
· CWB certified or willing to acquire CWB within first 3 months of employment
· Must be able to read and understand blueprints and follow verbal instructions.
· Must pass a weld test
· Must have a high mechanical aptitude
· Experience with preventative maintenance and repair of welding equipment
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively manage time and meet all specified deadlines.
· Must be willing to work within the safely guidelines of the company safety program
· Must be able to work supervised and unsupervised.
· Basic set of tools with own toolbox
· Preference will be given to those applicants with current safety ticket: First Aid, H2S Alive, Confined Space, Fall Arrest
