POSITION OBJECTIVE
Bethesda’s Niagara Family Centre requires five (5) full-time contract children support worker summer students. The duration of the contracts will be 8 weeks. These positions will involve working with children who have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder or other Developmental Disabilities.
Interested applicants will be responsible for material development, program planning and implementation of both in person groups (if permitted) and/or virtual groups for children and youth diagnosed with ASD between the ages of 3 – 17.
QUALIFICATIONS
These positions are contingent on funding provided by Canada Summer Job Services (CSJS). In order to qualify for the funding from CSJS applicants must be between the ages of 15-30.
The successful candidates will have previous experience working with young children with a diagnosis of ASD or a Developmental Disability. The successful candidates will possess excellent analytical and problem solving skills and will show a proven ability to work independently. Strong time management and demonstration of self-motivation in your work are essential. The successful candidate will show an ability to work professionally with parents and families. Bilingual in French would be an asset. Current First Aid, CPR, and NVCI are preferred.
