POSITION OVERVIEW: Education Department at Driftpile Cree Nation is currently seeking to fill a job position of a Full time Cree Language Project Coordinator. Mihtatakaw Sipiy School is located within Driftpile Cree Nation, amidst a beautiful setting surrounded by the Boreal Forest. The school serves Grades K to 12 with a full academic program. Unique features of the programming are its Cree language and cultural components. Outdoor culture camps are programmed into the school year.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead DCN Cree Language Project
-
Plan and develop Language programs and services.

Plan and support the development of Language based programs
-
Preparing planning and educational documents and resources
-
Providing direction to early learning teams on the planning, development, and implementation of effective programs
-
Prepare Briefing Notes for Education department and provincial discussions
-
Maintaining and cataloging Language resources for distribution
-
Coordinating workshops or Learning sessions on topics with resource personnel
-
Designing and preparing program content, determining format and arranging for resource distribution to participants and stakeholders
-
Prepare and provide ongoing program supports and data to ensure successful project
-
delivery and administration
-
Prepare reports which may include monthly, quarterly, and annual progress reports of the project
-
Build and maintain strong partnerships with early learning and education service

providers at Mihtatakaw Sipiy School
-
Evaluate resources, advise on implementation, and research outcomes of new or existing programs.

Other duties/responsibilities as determined by the Education Director.
QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Bachelor degree in Education/Linguistic/Language or related discipline or equivalent experience.

Years of progressive and related experience.
-
Proficiency in computer skills.
-
Speaking or experience with the Cree Language would be an asset.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Proven progressive experience in a previous similar role

Knowledge of strategic and operational planning

Budgeting skills, projection and monitoring

Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics
