Our client is seeking an experienced Superintendent for upcoming commercial projects across Alberta. The ideal candidate will bring 5+ years of commercial construction leadership experience, with a proven ability to manage complex projects from ground-up through completion.
This organization is a well-established and respected construction firm known for delivering high-quality, safety-driven projects across commercial, light industrial, and multi-family sectors. With a strong reputation built on long-standing client relationships, they consistently execute projects in demanding and regulated environments.
As the Superintendent, you will play a critical role in leading on-site construction operations and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget. Your responsibilities will include:
- On-Site Leadership & Project Execution:
Provide overall leadership and accountability for daily on-site construction activities.
Plan, schedule, organize, and control construction projects from mobilization through completion.
Ensure work is completed in accordance with drawings, specifications, budgets, schedules, and safety standards.
- Trade & Subcontractor Coordination:
Coordinate, supervise, and direct subcontractors, trades, and site personnel.
Monitor productivity, sequencing, and quality of work to maintain project timelines.
- Reporting & Communication:
Track project progress and prepare detailed progress reports and schedules for clients and internal teams.
Maintain strong, proactive communication with owners, consultants, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Safety & Quality Assurance:
Enforce site safety policies and promote a strong safety culture at all times.
Ensure compliance with company standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
To succeed in this role, candidates should demonstrate the following:
Minimum
5+ years of experience in commercial, retail petroleum, or light industrial construction.
5+ years of Superintendent-level experience managing projects valued between
$5M–$20M.
Experience with modern construction software is preferred (ProCore).
Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn and adapt to new construction technologies.
Strong leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Willingness to travel to project sites throughout
Western Canada.
