Located in beautiful Esquimalt, BC, Highrock Dental is a brand-new, thoughtfully designed family dental practice built with both patients and team in mind. This is a great opportunity to join the practice and be part of the founding team! We are looking for an experienced Licensed Dental Assistant who demonstrates initiative, professionalism, accountability, and a commitment to continuous improvement while contributing positively to the culture and success of Highrock Dental. Initially the hours will be Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 7:45am – 4:15pm. As the practice grows this will transition into a full-time position.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist chairside using efficient four-handed dentistry.
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, materials, and equipment for scheduled procedures.
- Support restorative, crown and bridge, endodontic, surgical, implant, pediatric, emergency, and digital dentistry procedures.
- Welcome patients, review relevant information, support patient comfort, and reinforce postoperative instructions.
- Expose dental radiographs and complete other licensed duties within current training, competence, and authorization.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and chart treatment information as directed by the dentist.
- Follow all infection prevention, sterilization, sharps safety, and occupational health procedures.
- Clean, disinfect, restock, and turn over treatment rooms efficiently.
- Process, package, sterilize, store, and monitor instruments in accordance with practice protocols.
- Maintain sterilization, equipment, waterline, and quality-assurance logs.
- Monitor clinical inventory, maintain appropriate stock levels, and assist with ordering supplies.
- Maintain dental equipment and report service or repair needs promptly.
- Coordinate laboratory cases, impressions, scans, prescriptions, and due dates.
- Assist with daily opening and closing procedures.
- Communicate appointment, treatment, and follow-up information clearly to the Practice Coordinator.
- Help answer phones, greet patients, receive deliveries, and support general office operations when clinical duties permit.
- Participate in team meetings, training, emergency drills, and quality-improvement initiatives.
- Help establish and refine clinical systems, checklists, room setups, and inventory processes as part of a new practice.
- Maintain patient confidentiality, professional boundaries, and compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to a welcoming, organized, collaborative, and patient-focused practice environment.
Key Qualifications
- Licensed Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) registered with the BCCOHP and in good standing
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical dental assisting experience
- Comfortable working in a fully digital practice
- Experience with ClearDent Practice Management software is considered an asset
- Experience with intraoral scanners, CAD/CAM milling, and 3D printing is an asset
- Experience supporting front desk operations, including reception and patient coordination, is an asset
- Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
- A positive, team-oriented attitude with a commitment to providing exceptional patient care
- Criminal record check required
