Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Dietary Aide to join our team in providing exceptional person-centred nutritional support within our non-profit long term care home. The ideal candidate will assist with meal preparation, food service, and sanitation to ensure residents receive quality care in a welcoming, clean and safe environment. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the well-being of others while gaining valuable experience in food handling and healthcare support.
Duties
- Assist with meal preparation, including cooking and portioning food according to dietary guidelines
- Serve meals to residents with professionalism and excellent customer service skills
- Ensure proper food handling and safety procedures are followed at all times
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and dining areas, including cleaning utensils, surfaces, and equipment
- Support with inventory management by stocking supplies and monitoring expiration dates
- Follow established protocols for food safety, sanitation, and infection control
- Assist with dietary documentation and record keeping as required by facility policies
- Collaborate with kitchen staff and healthcare team to meet residents’ nutritional needs
Experience
- Previous experience in assisted living, nursing home, hospital, or food industry is needed.
- Knowledge of food preparation, cooking, and food service operations
- Familiarity with food safety standards and sanitation practices
- Experience in food handling, meal preparation, serving, and kitchen cleanliness is advantageous
- Strong time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks during busy shifts
- Excellent customer service skills to interact positively with residents
- Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail

Pay: From $25.82 per hour
