Position Summary
The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) is responsible for performing laboratory testing and analysis to support patient diagnosis, treatment, and disease prevention. The successful candidate will work closely with healthcare teams to ensure accurate and timely test results while maintaining the highest standards of laboratory quality and patient safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and specialized laboratory testing according to established procedures.
- Analyze and interpret laboratory results accurately and efficiently.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Ensure compliance with laboratory safety standards and quality control procedures.
- Document test results accurately within laboratory information systems.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals to support patient care.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and professional standards at all times.
QualificationsRequired
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts as required.
Preferred
- MLT or MLS Certification through ASCP or an equivalent certifying body.
- Candidates eligible to obtain certification within a specified timeframe are encouraged to apply.
