Job Description: Jr. Accountant
Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Jr. Accountant to support our finance team with daily accounting operations. The ideal candidate will assist with maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
- Prepare and maintain financial records, invoices, receipts, and expense reports.
- Record financial transactions accurately in accounting software. NetSuite
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Prepare financial reports, spreadsheets, and supporting documentation.
- Monitor outstanding payments and follow up with customers and vendors as needed.
- Maintain organized filing systems for financial documents.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
- Provide administrative support to the accounting and finance department.
- Perform other accounting-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
- Previous experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role is an asset.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with accounting software such as Netsuite
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with payroll processing.
- Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
