Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the dental team by providing exceptional patient care, assisting with procedures, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Prior experience with dental software such as Epic and Dentrix, as well as knowledge of orthodontics and pediatrics, will be highly valued.
Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient procedures, ensuring cleanliness and proper sterilization of instruments
- Assist the dentist during various dental procedures, including exams, cleanings, and orthodontic treatments
- Take and develop dental radiographs using CAD technology when necessary
- Manage patient records accurately using dental software such as Epic and Dentrix
- Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions, and ensuring comfort throughout visits
- Maintain infection control standards in compliance with OSHA regulations
- Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and updating patient information
- Support pediatric patients by creating a welcoming environment tailored to their needs
- Handle dental reception duties when required, including check-in/check-out processes
Skills
- Proficiency with dental software platforms like Epic and Dentrix
- Knowledge of orthodontics, pediatrics, and general dentistry procedures
- Experience with dental assisting techniques and sterilization protocols
- Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to dentistry
- Ability to operate CAD systems for digital imaging and diagnostics
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages
- Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple responsibilities
- Prior experience as a dental receptionist or in medical administration is a plus
