Bobcat of Grey Bruce is looking for an experienced Shop Service Technician to join our Owen Sound team. We are looking for a technician who can diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy equipment in a shop environment while supporting the overall efficiency of the branch.
What You’ll Do
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain heavy equipment in the shop
- Perform preventive maintenance and inspections
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and engine systems
- Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic software
- Complete repairs accurately and efficiently
- Document work performed, parts used, and service reports
- Communicate repair findings and recommendations to service management
- Work closely with parts and service staff to support efficient turnaround
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Help around the yard as needed, including moving or positioning equipment safely
- Support overall shop workflow and assist with related duties as required
What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or GED required; technical training is an asset
- 3+ years of experience servicing heavy equipment, construction, agricultural, or industrial equipment preferred
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and powertrains
- Experience with diagnostic tools and service software
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
Preferred Skills & Experience
- OEM training or certifications
- Welding and fabrication experience
- Experience with Tier 4 emissions systems
- Familiarity with Bobcat equipment or similar machinery
- Previous dealership or shop service experience
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand, kneel, bend, climb, and work around heavy machinery
- Ability to safely perform physical service work in a shop and yard environment
Compensation & Benefits
- $35–$42 per hour, based on experience
