Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and professional Starter/Marshal to enhance the golfers'experience at our golf course. The ideal candidate will assist players, provide excellent customer service, and ensure smooth operations on the course. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, engaging with guests of all ages while promoting a welcoming atmosphere. Prior experience in hospitality or guest services is a plus, and strong communication skills are essential for success in this position. Candidates need an understanding of the game of golf, its rules, etiquette, and pace of play.
Duties
- Starting, greeting and checking in golfers at the first tee, sharing course set up, etiquette, and pace of play.
- Guide course rules and etiquette to players of all skill levels
- Manage tee time reservations, pair up golfers to make foursomes, and coordinate pace of play to maintain smooth flow
- Engage with guests through friendly conversation, fostering a welcoming environment
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization surrounding the clubhouse, the parking lot, the first and tenth tees and the golf course.
- Work collaboratively with team members (pro shop, back shop, starters, marshals) to deliver exceptional guest experiences and manage the pace of play throughout the day.
- Experience:
- Proven history of experience in customer service, sales or dealing with people preferred
- Strong public speaking skills to communicate effectively with guests and team members
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining professionalism and enthusiasm
- Prior experience in hospitality or customer-facing roles will be beneficial, but is not mandatory; training will be provided for specific course procedures and standards
Pay: $18.00 per hour
