Backflow Coordinator
Position Summary
The Backflow Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and managing the backflow prevention program for our organization. This role ensures compliance with local regulations, maintains accurate records, schedules inspections and testing, and communicates with contractors, inspectors, and customers regarding backflow prevention requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update backflow prevention records and databases
- Coordinate annual testing, inspections, and device certifications
- Schedule appointments with certified backflow testers and contractors
- Review test reports for accuracy and regulatory compliance
- Track due dates, renewals, and compliance deadlines
- Communicate with property owners, customers, plumbers, and inspectors regarding program requirements
- Prepare notices, reminder letters, and compliance documentation
- Process permits, applications, and related administrative paperwork
- Assist with audits and regulatory reporting
- Respond to customer inquiries and resolve administrative issues
- Ensure records are maintained according to municipal or company policies
- Support field staff and management with reporting and administrative tasks
- Monitor non-compliance cases and follow escalation procedures when necessary
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in administration, environmental services, or related field preferred
- Previous administrative or coordination experience preferred
- Experience in utilities, plumbing, water services, construction, or municipal operations is an asset
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and database systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and maintain accurate records
- Knowledge of backflow prevention regulations and cross-connection control programs is an asset

Working Conditions

Pay: $50,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
