Position Summary

The Operations Supervisor at Neegan Development is responsible for training, directing, organizing, and supervising field personnel to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of work on site. This role provides day-to-day leadership for crews, coordinates operational and inspection activities, maintains operational records, and promotes strong safety, production, and communication standards.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate operational and inspection activities within the assigned job site.
Provide clear shift-to-shift communication, including manpower and equipment locations, work progress, operational issues, and safety concerns.
Conduct toolbox/tailgate meetings at the start of each shift and when mobilizing to a new site, including Field Level Risk Assessments (FLRAs), site hazards, PPE requirements, planned work activities, and crew questions.
Maintain accurate and detailed records, including timesheets, daily logs, equipment and inspection documentation, and incident/accident/safety reports.
Ensure complaints, requests for information, and operational issues are addressed promptly through the appropriate channels.
Resolve workplace conflicts and support positive crew performance and accountability.
Perform frequent field inspections to verify safe work practices, proper PPE use, and compliance with company and client requirements.
Monitor equipment utilization and workforce productivity to ensure operational efficiency.
Report operational events, production impacts, safety incidents, and other activities affecting business performance.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce turnaround times, streamline work processes, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with operations, maintenance, HSE, and client representatives to deliver safe, high-quality, and seamless service.
Assist with planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and budgeting activities to support operational objectives.

Qualifications & Experience

Grade 12 diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education or vocational training is considered an asset.
Heavy Equipment Technician/Journeyperson certification is considered an asset.
Minimum 2-3 years of supervisory experience within the heavy equipment, construction, mining, or industrial services industry.
Strong administrative, organizational, and customer service skills.
Demonstrated technical knowledge of heavy equipment and construction equipment.
Proven ability to lead teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Proven track record of achieving strong HSE performance outcomes.
Experience managing production, cost, and schedule performance.
Recent planning and budgeting experience is preferred.
Experience supporting civil construction, mining, and contract operations is considered an asset.
