Staff Plus if currently looking for a Crane Operator/ Steel worker for one of our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate overhead cranes to move steel materials, bundles, plates, tubing, and other metal products throughout the warehouse and production areas
- Safely load and unload trucks and trailers
- Assist with staging material for production, shipping, and customer orders
- Perform daily equipment inspections and report any mechanical or safety concerns
- Follow all health & safety procedures, lockout/tagout protocols, and company policies
- Read work orders, pick sheets, and shipping documentation accurately
- Work closely with warehouse, production, and shipping teams to ensure workflow efficiency
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Support general warehouse duties as required
Qualifications
- Previous experience operating overhead cranes in a manufacturing, steel, or industrial environment
- Valid overhead crane certification considered a strong asset
- Experience handling steel products or heavy materials preferred
- Forklift experience is considered an asset
- Strong understanding of industrial health & safety practices
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs when required
- Comfortable working in a physically demanding environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-focused
Preferred Experience
- Experience within a steel service centre or metals distribution environment
- Familiarity with bundle handling, rigging, slings, and load securement
- Experience with inventory scanning or ERP systems is an asset

Pay: $21.00-$26.00 per hour
