Position Overview
First General Restoration Waterloo is seeking an experienced and highly organized Restoration Project Manager to oversee residential and commercial restoration projects from start to finish. The ideal candidate will lead emergency mitigation and reconstruction projects while ensuring exceptional customer service, quality workmanship, safety compliance, and profitability.
The Restoration Project Manager acts as the primary point of contact for clients, insurance adjusters, subcontractors, and internal teams throughout all phases of restoration projects including water, fire, mold, storm, and property damage claims.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage restoration and reconstruction projects from initial site inspection through project completion
- Coordinate emergency response activities and develop project scopes, timelines, and budgets
- Communicate effectively with homeowners, property managers, insurance representatives, and subcontractors
- Prepare estimates, change orders, and project documentation using industry software
- Schedule and supervise crews, trades, and subcontractors to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor quality control, safety standards, and customer satisfaction
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards
- Identify and resolve project issues proactively to minimize delays and additional costs
- Maintain accurate job records, progress reports, and project files
- Support business development efforts by building strong client and referral relationships
Qualifications
- Minimum 1–2 years of project management experience in restoration, construction, or property insurance industries
- Strong knowledge of water, fire, mold, and structural restoration processes
- Experience working with insurance claims and estimating software such as Xactimate is considered an asset
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Valid Ontario driver’s license with a clean driving record
- IICRC certifications or related industry certifications are considered an asset
