Position: Kitchen Support Worker
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Assist in Batch cooking three meals per day for approximately 150 people per meal with assistance from staff and volunteers.
- Ensure that the kitchen laundry is done on a regular basis
- Assist in organizing food storage room and keep all storage areas clean and orderly.
- Follow the schedule as set by the manager ensuring that you notify the manager a minimum of 12 hours in advance in the case of sick leave and two weeks in advance for all other absences
- Ensure kitchen cleaning is completed and all areas are sanitized following the province sanitary standards
- Keep records of Meals Served
- Assist in ensuring that supplies are available for preparing meals. Monitor the quantities being served
- Assist in all other tasks assigned by Manager
Skills and Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices is an asset
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Safe Food Handling certificate is preferred
- Criminal Record Check (CRC) and First Aid Certificate are mandatory
- Able to commute to 182 High Street - work location
